When it comes to its views on piracy, BeIN Media Group lets its money do the talking. The Qatar-based network extended its broadcast partnership with Premier League for the Middle East and North Africa region through 2025, a deal worth $500 million.

SportsPro says this investment is a “show of faith” in Premier League’s fight against piracy. Earlier this year, the Premier League blocked the attempted takeover of Newcastle United by Saudi Arabia, a country noted for its rampant piracy. And BeIN also refused to pay an exclusivity premium for Serie A broadcast rights due to piracy, costing the Italian football league an estimated $200 million.

Speaking on the Premier League agreement, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, BeIN Media Group chairman, said, “This deal demonstrates that rights holders who do the most to protect their intellectual property also do the most to protect the value of their media rights.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
